About me
Background
Hello and welcome!
I’m Michelle Mildiner, an English language trainer and proofreader/editor. Born in 1972 in London, I'm a native speaker and Cambridge CELTA qualified. I lived in London until I was 18 and then studied French with Linguistics at the University of Manchester.
For 25 years, I worked in offices in London, Bristol and Brussels as a personal assistant and in marketing, before deciding to become a full-time English trainer and proofreader/editor. With 11 years' teaching experience, I work with adults at all levels, specialising in Business & Professional English, pronunciation, grammar and conversation.
A significant part of my career has been dedicated to proofreading and editing, on topics such as EU policy, health, education and environment. My colleagues always appreciate my grammar knowledge, insightful comments and attention to detail.
Since September 2020, I have been working freelance with clients such as Milieu Law & Policy Consulting, Science Europe, Notilius (formerly Cruysmans & Verstraete), Enhesa and Brussels Ouderenplatform. I also have several private clients.
In my spare time, I sing jazz & acoustic music. I also enjoy photography, learning piano and reading. I speak fluent French, Dutch at B1 level, and speak a little Italian. I live with my husband and our cat in Etterbeek, Brussels.
Teaching and proofreading/editing are my work passion. You are most welcome to contact me if you have any questions or comments. I look forward to hearing from you and learning more about you!
