In last week's blog, I talked about using ‘gap songs’ as listening comprehensions. This week, I’m simply going to let you know the full text for Kitty Cat Blues, the song I used as an example. If you tried it out, please do let us know how it went in the comments section below. And if by any slim chance you’d like to use it for a gap song lesson, just let me know 😊

Woke up this morning
The humans ignored me.
And I really thought
Those humans adored me.
But they both just snored
And I got really bored
I SO wanted to eat
So I jumped on their feet…
Chorus :
I got the Kitty Cat Blues
I wanna know where all the food went
And I’m hell bent
On finding the stash
Before I have a blood sugar crash.
Oh yeah…
(spoken)
And then things’ll get really blue,
I’m tellin’ you…
Woke up this morning
They were snoring again.
And I hadn’t eaten
Since a quarter past ten.
I meowed and I yowled
And they slept on right through
It was then that I knew
What I had to do….
Chorus :
I got the Kitty Cat Blues
I wanna know where all the food went
And I’m hell bent
On finding the stash
Before I have a blood sugar crash.
Oh yeah…
So you know what I did?
I sold the cat nip.
And what I did then?
I went on a trip.
And what I did then?
I bought me some tuna
And I don’t know why
I didn’t think of it sooner…
Chorus X2
